Swiss CNC
Machining

for Tight Tolerances
and Complex Designs

Swiss CNC machining produces high-precision parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries. At Twin City EDM & MFG, we specialize in machining long, small-diameter parts using 7- to 9-axis Swiss machines capable of lights-out manufacturing. These machines offer superior stability, speed, and repeatability—ideal for mission-critical industries like medical, aerospace, and defense.

Unlike standard lathes, Swiss machines support the material with a guide bushing close to the cutting tool. This reduces deflection and allows for ultra-precise motion control. Our equipment delivers tolerances down to ±0.0001″, making it possible to meet exacting requirements in high-volume production.

Precision Performance at Every Step

Our Swiss CNC machining capabilities support projects that require consistent, multi-featured parts without sacrificing speed or quality. We can produce a few prototypes or tens of thousands of components in-house.

We work with a wide range of materials, including:

  • Metals: Stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, brass, nickel, and dual-phase steels
  • Polymers: Polyurethane, thermoplastics, thermoset elastomers, ceramic
  • Other Materials: Plastics, ceramics, Delrin, graphite, and conductive composites

Which are ideal for parts requiring:

  • Long, slender profiles up to 4 feet in length
  • Diameters from 0.010″ to 1.50″
  • Complex external and internal threads
  • Cross holes, off-center features, and polygon shapes
  • Tight feature tolerances, with motion increments as fine as 0.000039″
