Optical Marker Radial Device

We have the technology and resources for machining unique geometric shapes within the tightest of tolerances. Utilizing 17-4 PH or 13-8 stainless steel, we fabricated the 8-ray marker radial pictured here for an optical surgery application. The eye is a vital and fragile organ, and our customer trusted us to manufacture this component with extreme care to ensure its precise performance in delicate surgical operations

Significant attention to detail went into fabricating fixtures that would hold the workpiece straight and square and allow wires to create an intricate pattern. Featuring dimensions of 0.492″ O.D., 0.128″ I.D., and 0.185″ in height, our advanced technology equipment and exceptional skills enabled us to machine the component to within ultra-precise +0.001″/-0.000″ tolerance and achieve a smooth, 32 RMS finish. Quality-driven from fixture design and fabrication through to a rigorous, multi-step inspection process, our team demonstrated many of our EDM and conventional machining capabilities to manufacture 50 of these components within a 3 week turnaround. First article inspection reports and a certificate of conformance verified we met 100% of the customer specification.
