Industry Machining

Twin City EDM & Manufacturing understands that quality machining produces quality industrial parts. From fluid system components to high-strength assemblies, manufacturers rely on us for low- to mid-volume production, where precision and consistency are non-negotiable.

Our team works with OEMs in the aerospace, defense, automation, heavy equipment, and energy sectors to produce complex parts from tough materials. Our shop is built for short-run, high-mix machining with integrated EDM and finishing services.

Machining Services for Industrial Applications

Tier 1 and Tier 2 OEMs rely on us to deliver components that meet tight-tolerance standards and demanding performance requirements. Most of the projects we undertake involve difficult-to-machine materials, post-heat-treat processing, or design elements that require EDM to meet final specifications.

Our end-to-end facility manages all stages of manufacturing, from material prep to laser marking. Industrial parts often require a combination of processes, including:

  • Swiss turning or CNC milling to shape the base geometry
  • Heat treating to strengthen parts before final finishing
  • Wire EDM or sinker EDM to create precise features post-HT
  • Laser welding or micro hole popping for final modifications
  • Finishing operations like passivation, electropolishing, plating, or laser marking

We also support one-off machining for urgent needs and R&D work, or function as a single-process shop for customers who require only EDM, welding, or marking services.

Expertise Across Industrial Markets

We serve a broad spectrum of industrial markets, including:

  • Aerospace – Pitot tubes, fuel system fittings, brackets
  • Defense – Enclosures, mounts, fastener systems
  • Automation – Robotic arm components, tool holders
  • Energy – Valve bodies, sealing surfaces, sensor casings
  • Transportation – Connectors, support hardware

Each application presents its own unique challenges, but our experienced team knows how to handle complex assemblies, mixed material requirements, tight tolerances, and projects that require extreme durability. Our equipment and expertise are built to meet those demands without compromising lead time or quality.

Value-Added Engineering and Finishing

One of the reasons customers stay with us is our ability to think beyond the machine. We regularly assist with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), offering early-stage feedback to help reduce cost, simplify assembly, or improve tolerance stack-ups.

And because we offer finishing and inspection in-house, there are fewer vendor handoffs, less room for error, and faster turnaround times. Our typical value-added processes include:

  • Laser welding and TIG welding for precise joining
  • Laser marking for serialized or logo-engraved parts
  • Passivation and electropolishing for corrosion resistance
  • Assembly and final inspection for ready-to-install parts

Prototype Through Production

While many of our jobs involve ongoing production, we also offer manufacturing prototype services for customers developing new parts or transitioning designs into full production. Whether it’s a single test piece or a batch of early builds, our team applies the same precision and quality control to every part.

Visit our Case Studies page to see how we’ve supported industrial clients with prototype-to-production machining across a wide range of industries.
